Can we all agree that different lifestyles exist and not everyone must desire the same one?
No one is wrong to want something different. For example, not everyone desires to live a luxurious lifestyle and instead wants to have a home, family, work. Another example would be that not everyone has the desire to be in a committed relationship and/or have a family. Any lifestyle choice someone makes for themselves is also okay! It’s been normalized that if you don’t have any of the above, you are not a “proper” member of society.
We must unlearn this mentality!
Each individual on this planet, regardless of their identity, MATTERS! Labels should NOT matter. The infamous question, “what will people say?” is one of the most devastating and soul crushing question to anyone. What people is in question? Society? Every human being makes up society. We are society. What do we say?
Society = Community
This was the way I always viewed society, but have always been taught as society from previous generations. This explains the lack of progress in all levels, but let’s define both terms together.
Society is defined as “an organized group of persons associated together for religious, benevolent, cultural, scientific, political, patriotic, or other purposes” (dictionary.com).
Community is defined as “a social, religious, occupational, or other group sharing common characteristics or interests and perceived or perceiving itself as distinct in some respect from the larger society within which it exists” (dictionary.com).
Did you know that community is a synonym for society?
This means that my perception of society is accurate, but so is the normalized version. They are both technically correct, but why are both terms perceived as different? Let’s examine this example based of my own experiences.
Disclaimer: I have had different experiences, but we do not invalidate realities here. We share our stories to show the bigger picture. We all are a puzzle piece and until we come together, we cannot see the whole picture.

Poll: Which version of society would you prefer to be in?
Friendly reminder that anything mentioned on my website is not meant to force anyone to change their beliefs or mentalities. Instead, consider me taking the initiative to share an opinion that maybe others have. We respect differences here.
Thank you for being a part of my community!
